Two fires in same street

Two fires broke out within just over two hours in the same road in the village of Cobham.
Firefighters tackled a caravan alight in woods off Cobhambury Road at about 6.50pm yesterday (Sunday). The unoccupied mobile home was destroyed.
The same crew from Strood were called out just before 9pm to deal with a pick-up truck on fire in the middle of the road.
Police believe the vehicle was stolen and are investigating.

Firefighters were also called out to a house in Chatham yesterday when an
oven fire caused smoke damage to a kitchen. It is believed it was sparked by a newspaper alight under the cooker. Fire crews went to the house in Edinburgh Road at about 4.30pm.
