Video: Footy coaching video becomes web hit

Two teenagers have become an internet sensation after thousands of people watched their football coaching video on YouTube.

Zach Foster-Crouch and Joseph Mason, both 16, uploaded their clip to teach young children about kicking techniques, particularly goalkeepers wanting to kick long balls.

The lads, both pupils at Cornwallis Academy in Hubbard’s Lane, Maidstone, expected some reaction and hoped it would encourage more children to get involved with football in the Maidstone area.

But their video has attracted between three to four thousand views from all over the country.

Now Zach and Joseph want to release a DVD.

He said: “We posted it on Facebook only expecting a few people to see but the response has been unbelievable.

“I got a call from my sponsor saying that the comments he had been getting from goalkeepers’ mums and dads had been really positive and had come from all over England.”

The video, which was filmed on a playing field in Park Wood, shows Zach kicking a football, and has been slowed down to allow viewers to observe the technique.

One comment read: “The video was particularly useful for my son. He is 12-years-old and signed on at Bolton Wanderers.

"Kicking is something he is always looking for tips and advice on.”
