Kent's Team Hard Racing prepare for thrilling British Touring Car Championship finale at Brands Hatch

Kent's very own British Touring Car Championship team are busy getting ready for the final race of the season.

Team Hard Racing, based in Detling, will be battling it out at Brands Hatch amongst veteran teams for a positive end to the year, after Jack Goff secured a stunning victory at Silverstone last month.

With the smell of success in the air, expectations are at an all-time high.

Team boss Tony Gilham said the win was a long time coming.

He said: "We should have had a race win in previous years, and earlier on in the season we've had some mega race pace at times but just haven't been able to convert it into the results.

"There were some tears, smiles, lots and lots of positivity that came from within the garage but also outside of the garage too."

Another Team Hard driver soaking up the attention after Silverstone is first-year rookie Michael Crees, from Thanet.

Crees secured a 9th place finish, after only being involved in motorsport for the past three years.

He grew up watching BTCC legends like Jason Plato drive at Brands Hatch, and now finds himself racing alongside them.

He said: "I've been watching them for years and never ever thought I'd be racing on the same track as them."

Crees said he isn't phased by the poor weather forecasts for Sunday's race, after achieving such a high finish in the rain last race weekend.

He said: "The car seems to go well, I see to go well in these mixed conditions.

"Who knows, imagine if we were to get in the points again for a third weekend in a row, in my first year of touring cars."
