An early morning deluge has resulted in the closure of New Road in East Malling due to flooding, and a fallen tree has partially blocked East Langdon Road in Martin Mill.

Traffic leaving Kent through the Dartford Tunnel has also been affected due to the wet weather.

The Met Office is warning of potential interruption to power supplies and possible cancellations to public transport services.

An 18-hour yellow warning, which came into force at midnight, is in place until 6pm.

The wind and rain is set to continue into tomorrow, but is not expected to be as heavy.
