Woman, 30, on attempted murder charge

A WOMAN has appeared before Medway magistrates accused of attempted murder. Lesley O'Rourke, 30, of St James Close, Grain, near Strood, was charged following an incident outside the Hogarth Inn in the village. She was released on bail.

A man was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with what were thought to be life-threatening injuries after the incident. He was injured by a car allegedly driven by O'Rourke. After further assessment, the 19-year-old, from Leybourne, near West Malling, was said not to be seriously injured.
