Woman injured in A249 crash

A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash on the A249 this morning.

A lorry and a yellow MG were involved in the accident, which happened at about 8.50am today, along Brielle Way at Blue Town.

Firefighters, police and an ambulance were on the scene.

A woman, thought to be in her 20s, was taken to hospital with suspected neck, back and leg injuries.

Firefighters from Sheppey and Sittingbourne got her out of the car and onto a long-board through the back window.

Roads in and around Sheerness are still clogged up and motorists are stuck along the A249 back to Queenborough.

The knock-on effects are being felt in Halfway.
