Woman killed in multi-vehicle A228 crash

A woman died in a crash involving three vehicles on the A228 in Medway.

The accident happened near the Isle of Grain at around 5.20pm Monday and involved a lorry, a mini-bus and a car.

A police spokesman said a 36-year-old Gillingham woman driving the mini-bus suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.

Several other people received minor injuries.

The road was closed until just after 12.30am Tuesday between the Ratcliffe Highway roundabout at High Halstow and Stoke Road at Stoke while police carried out initial investigations and the vehicles were recovered.
