A woman has appeared at Maidstone Crown Court accused of murdering 21-year-old Andrew Wilby in Canterbury.

Care worker Lara Doran, of Rosemary Lane, Canterbury, wept as she sat in the dock for the brief hearing on Monday.

The dark-haired and petite 22-year-old is alleged to have stabbed Mr Wilby at a flat in Tennyson Avenue in the city on June 20.

He suffered a single wound to the back and was dead on arrival at the QEQM Hospital in Margate.

Doran was remanded in custody until October 26 when she will enter a plea. A trial date was reserved for March 29 next year.
