BRANDS Hatch is set for a £1.7m facelift after owners Octagon Motorsports revealed a number of planned improvements to the circuit and facilities.

The key changes will be a realignment of Dingle Dell on the Grand Prix circuit to create a larger run off area.

There will also be various upgrades across the Indy circuit ahead of the Champ Car Series European round in May.

In anticipation of the British Superbike Championship round in September, fencing will be replaced along the main straight.

Spectator facilities will be improved with a new toilet block and refurbishment of the hospitality suites.

Michael Browning, managing director of Octagon Motorsports UK, said: “Brands Hatch has a number of key events in 2003 and the new facilities will provide the teams and spectators with an excellent motor racing experience."
