Chelmsford Chieftains wrapped up the NIHL South Division 1 title after beating Invicta Dynamos 3-2 in the top-of-the-table clash in Essex on Sunday night.

The under-strength Mos, who were without Shaun Yardley, Chris Douglas and Anthony Leone, went behind in the sixth minute after Chelmsford player/coach Gary Clarke netted the first of his two goals.

It was all square 13 minutes later after Ryan Giles scored.

That was the way it stayed until the final minutes when the hosts scored twice in two minutes through Cameron Bartlett and Clarke.

The defeat leaves the second-placed Mos seven points behind Chelmsford with two games to go.

The Mos had missed the chance to close the gap to Chelmsford at home on Saturday night after they drew 6-6 against the Streatham Redskins.

Invicta led 6-2 heading into the final quarter before the visitors hit back in stunning fashion to earn a share of the points.

Juraj Huska scored a hat-trick for the Mos while Andy Smith, Arran Strawson and Marek Nahlik completed the scoring.
