GILLINGHAM have denied speculation that they are planning to sign Michael Branch from League Two side Chester City.

The 27-year-old is no longer on the transfer list at the Deva Stadium, having been taken off in the summer, but he has not played yet this season.

Newspaper reports in Chester have linked the former Everton marksman with a loan move to Priestfield, but Gills boss Ronnie Jepson has moved to quash the rumours.
