DENISE FARNHAM will be hoping to add to her medal haul this weekend when she represents Great Britain in the European Masters Indoor Track Championships.

The 47-year-old Sturry athlete will run in the 45 to 50 years' 1500m at San Sebastian, Spain, with her confidence high after victory over the same distance in the national masters indoor championships.

Farnham, who runs for Medway and Maidstone AC, won by around five seconds at Glasgow's Kelvin Hall after clocking 5mins 8secs, only just outside her personal best.

She completed a highly successful weekend in Scotland by adding the 3,000m title the following day, emerging triumphant by nearly half-a-minute after clocking 10.36.

Farnham had warmed up for the national indoors with an impressive performance in the first race of an inaugural national biathle grand prix series at Bath.

The event comprised a 100m swim sandwiched betwen two 1,000m runs on the track and Farnham led from start to finish win her age group, this time for 40 to 50 year-olds.

Her winning margin was 1 min 29 secs
