Councillors vote to introduce waste tip charges

Kent Councillors have voted overwhelmingly to introduce charges if you want to dump waste at a tip, despite fierce opposition.If approved by cabinet, the council will now make you pay to dispose items such as soil, rubble and plasterboard.It comes as 85% of residents voted against the proposal in a consultation, with fears that it could increase fly-tipping.
