A-level results day 2019: Pictures of schools in Maidstone, Weald and Malling

Thousands of students from across the country have celebrated getting their A-level results today.

Our reporters have been out across Maidstone, Weald and Malling grabbing snaps and stories of what has been going on.

Now as the excitement draws to a close we have decided to put together a gallery of photos from the day.

There are pictures from a variety of different schools including Invicta Grammar School, Maidstone Grammar School, Cornwallis Academy in Maidstone, Hillview School in Tonbridge and many more.

Teenagers were able to collect their results from some schools as early as 8am.

Some managed to secure a place at some of the top universities in the country including Maidstone Grammar School for Girls student Sophie Minns who achieved four A* grades and is off to study psychology at Cambridge.

Honor Wines from Sevenoaks will be heading to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama to study opera, a course which only accepts between 10 and 14 people every year.

The results can have a big impact on what young people do next with going to university among the options.

But if the grades weren't as good as expected, help is at hand from organisations like UCAS.
