M20: Accident in roadworks near Aylesford is causing delays

An accident in the roadworks on the M20 has caused delays.

Two lanes were closed due to an accident involving a car and a lorry on the London bound stretch of the M20 between Junction 6 for Blue Bell Hill and Junction 5 for Aylesford.

Traffic was queuing on the motorway due to the incident but all lanes have been reopened.

On the coastbound carriageway, one lane is closed in the roadworks area between Junction 8 for Leeds Castle and Junction 9 for Ashford due to a broken down van.

A police spokesman said: "We received a report of a collision involving a car and lorry at 8.27am.

"Officers attended the scene near Junction 5 and no injuries were reported."
