Arson inquiry after car fire in Glebe Lane, Barming

A car which caught on fire while parked outside a home may have been set alight intentionally.

Firefighters descended on Glebe Lane, Barming, near Maidstone, at around 12.30am on Monday morning.

The blaze totally destroyed the car, but there were no injuries.

Flame spread to a neighbouring house, causing further damage.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene, along with Kent Fire and Rescue Service which extinguished the blaze."

The fire service confirmed it sent two engines to the scene and the blaze was out by 1.20am.

Investigators are asking anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious or unusual to call Kent Police on 01622 604 100, quoting crime reference 46/7275/20.
