By William Janes

A popular town centre bar has announced the opening of a new rooftop terrace.

The Brenchley, on High Street, Maidstone will be unveiling a bar and rooftop covered seating area to the town’s pub-goers at some time around Easter, although an exact date has not been revealed.

The new venue will be called Harry's Bar and is still under construction.

Management have not given away much information about the development as they want to maintain some suspense before its official opening.

however, plans show details of a clear polycarbonate covering suspended with a steel frame, railings, and a bar situated around the familiar dome that can been seen from inside.

The grade II listed building was constructed in 1927 to house Natwest and Kentish Bank and was designed by Frederick Charles Palmer, architect and surveyor for the General Post Office from 1908 and the National Provincial Bank from 1920.
