British Empire Medal stolen from home in Maidstone

Police are investigating a burglary after a British Empire Medal was reportedly stolen.

Thieves broke into the home in Hillary Road, Maidstone around 3.45pm on Sunday.

A quantity of jewellery, cash and the medal were found to be missing from the property.

Two men described as being white, 18 to 24 years old, around 5ft 8in tall and of slim build were reported to have been acting suspiciously in the area.

One of them was wearing navy blue clothing and a bright blue hat with a white band.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Jeremy Chapman said: "The property stolen in this burglary was of particular sentimental value to the victims and I would urge anybody with information that may help us recover any of these items to call the appeal line."
