Car crashes into unmarked police car in Maidstone at traffic lights before driving off

A man's been arrested after a car crashed into an unmarked police vehicle at traffic lights in Maidstone, before driving off.

Officers managed to locate the Rover after it happened yesterday at about 1.30pm, and the driver was found to have no insurance.

He also failed a drug test and had a knuckle duster in his pants.

Kent Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted about the incident last night.

The driver of the Rover, a man in his 20s from Chatham, was later detained on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.

He was released pending further investigation.
