Firefighters tackle flames in flat in Poynder Drive, Snodland.

A man's been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis, after he was treated for smoke inhalation following a flat fire.

Police were called to the scene in Poynder Drive, Snodland before 11pm last night (Saturday).

Fire crews extinguished the flames coming from the bedroom.

A man was treated for smoke inhalation and later arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis.

He's been released on bail.

Two women were treated with oxygen therapy at the scene and they were taken care of by paramedics.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel jet to put out the flames in the second floor flat.

A positive pressure ventilation fan also cleared smoke from the building.
