Dangerous driving arrest after multi-vehicle crash closes M20 between junctions 8 and 7 near Maidstone

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a multi-vehicle crash resulted in the M20 being closed for more than an hour.

Police were called at 9.40pm on Tuesday night to a collision involving three vehicles on the westbound carriageway of the motorway, between junctions 8 and 7 near Maidstone.

A spokesman said: “Officers and paramedics attended the scene where a man was treated for injuries.

“He was taken to a local hospital for further medical attention.”

A 44-year-old man from Surrey was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and driving without insurance and was taken into custody.

National Highways posted on X last night that the westbound carriageway had been closed just before 10.30pm, with traffic released at 11.38pm.
