Maidstone driver makes unexpected visit to a trench on Longend Lane

Pally Adeleke has had his faith in humanity restored after an unexpected accident while travelling home in the dark.

The desktop support engineer was travelling back to Wallis Avenue in Maidstone from work when things took a turn for the worse in Longend Lane, Marden.

Dash cam footage shows the car plunge into the ditch at 1:44

Mr Adeleke recorded the incident on his car's dash-cam.

He said: "I was driving my usual route, nothing out of the ordinary, and just like that, I ended up in a trench.

"When I got out of the car, both the front and back driver's side wheels were off the ground.

"But it was amazing to see how many people stopped to ask if I was all right and if they could help?

"Finally, I was rescued by a group of men who just coincidentally had a tow truck powerful enough to drag my car out.

"All they accepted was a handshake - I didn't even catch their names.

"But if they read this I'd like them to know I am very grateful."

Mr Adeleke also had a message for Kent Highways: "Please fix Longend Lane, it is dangerous!"
