A26 Tonbridge Road closed both ways after crash between cyclist and car

Delays are clearing after a crash between a motorcyclist and a car this morning.

Travel experts reported the A26 Tonbridge Road was shut in both directions between Oakwood Road and Queen's Road in Maidstone.

The motorcyclist was treated for a minor injury at the scene.

But one witness said the stretch of road near the crash - between Hambledon Court and Westborough Mews - was running freely.

The incident happened near the zebra crossing, close to West Borough Primary School. Police were called shortly after 7.30am, as children made their way to school.

Fire crews were called to clean-up a fuel spillage.

The road has now re-opened and emergency services have left.
