M20 carriageway between Aylesford and Maidstone closed after crash

Drivers are being warned to expect delays along the M20 following a multi-vehicle crash.

The motorway's coast-bound feeder lane near Maidstone has been closed following the pile-up, involving a lorry and two cars, at about 5.15pm today.

Emergency services are at the scene of the crash, but motorists are being urged to use alternative routes.

A Kent County Council notice reads: "Expect delays.

"Please approach with caution and use an alternative route where possible.

"Emergency services are in attendance."

A police spokesman says a person has reported sustaining minor injuries and that officers are making arrangements to recover the vehicles involved.

Traffic has since been released past the incident, but the carriageway remains closed between Junctions 5 and Junctions 6 and motorists are still urged to find alternative routes.
