Part of B2246 Hermitage Lane, Aylesford, near Maidstone, will close for 13 days for highway improvement works

A busy road will be closed to through traffic for 13 days for highway improvement works.

Part of B2246 Hermitage Lane, Aylesford, near Maidstone, will be shut in the vicinity of the southern junction of Richard Corben Way.

The closure is planned from October 20 with an estimated completion date of November 1.

Kent County Council has issued a permit for Walker Construction (UK) Ltd to carry out highway improvement works.

It says signs and barriers will indicate the closure and access will be maintained for emergency vehicles.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2246 Hermitage Lane, A20 London Road, A228 Ashton Way, A228 Malling Road, A26 Tonbridge Road, B2246 Fountain Lane, B2246 Hermitage Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
