Driver arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after M2 crash near Faversham

A Maidstone man has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a crash on the M2 in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at 3.40am on the London-bound carriageway of the M2 between Junctions 7 for the A2, Brenley Corner, near Faversham and Junction 6 for Ashford Road.

The road was blocked temporarily but has since been cleared.

Only one vehicle was involved - a black Seat Ibiza which collided with the central reservation.

Fortunately, no-one was injured.

Police say they have arrested a 20-year-old man from Barming.
