Driver given ticket for splashing pedestrians on A20 near Bearsted

A driver has been given a ticket for splashing pedestrians.

A woman driving a Nissan Juke was stopped by police at 4.30pm on the A20 near Bearsted, after she drove through a puddle and drenched people walking nearby.

She received a traffic offence report in connection with careless driving - which means she could be summonsed to court or receive a fine.

A tweet from police reads: "We like to see people go about their daily business in a safe manner as well as being kind and considerate towards others.

"So when you drive through puddles soaking pedestrians, don't be surprised when you get stopped by us and given a ticket."

This comes as torrential rain and sudden downpours have hit parts of the county.
