Yalding: The Boathouse pub evacuated following kitchen fire just weeks after £1.3million refurbishment

A pub that only reopened last month after a £1.3 million refurbishment has been evacuated following a kitchen fire.

Crews were called to The Boathouse, formerly known as The Anchor, in Yalding just before 4.30pm after receiving reports of smoke coming from the building.

There is one reported casualty who is being treated by paramedics.

Witnesses said an air ambulance landed nearby and a chef had been taken to hospital.

The cause of the fire is being investigated.
