'Happy, hyper, outgoing' Lilly Hudson, 3, from Yalding died following battle with cancer

A devastated couple paid tribute to their beloved daughter after she died peacefully this week following a brave battle against cancer.

Lilly Hudson was growing up “a happy, hyper, outgoing, loving” girl, when suddenly a lump emerged on her belly last year.

Parents Rhys Hudson and Lara-Louise Leyser, from Yalding, suspected the toddler was just constipated but took her to the doctor as a precaution, who then immediately referred her to hospital.

Within a matter of hours, Lilly, now three, was diagnosed with a form of liver cancer.

Despite her best efforts to fight it, the disease then spread to her lungs and brain, and last month Rhys and Lara-Louise, of Medway Avenue, were given the heartbreaking news their daughter’s cancer was terminal and she had days to live.

After that she became completely paralysed and suffered a number of seizures.

But the youngster defied doctors’ predictions by surviving for more than two weeks.

On Tuesday, however, she finally lost her battle, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her parents, just before 5pm.

Lara-Louise, 22, said: “This is the hardest thing as parents we’ve ever had to do.

“We held her, told her we loved her and she left, peacefully.

“Lilly will never be forgotten, I always said ‘it’s just for now, it’s not forever’.

“My heart beams with pride. We produced her, she is ours and her memory will live forever.”

Throughout Lilly’s brave battle, friends and family have clubbed together to show support and raise thousands of pounds to help support the family.

Beauty products have been raffled off to help collect cash, and a big fundraising meeting is due to take place in Maidstone later this month.

The X Factor contestant Scarlett Lee has also been involved in the campaign.
