Mr Khan, who was left lying on the road but suffered no serious injuries, now cannot work without his electric Carrera Crossfuse bike.

He said: “I am out-of-work. My bike is written off.

“Until I find the person responsible, nobody is paying for my bike to be replaced. It is an electric bike, and it is quite an expensive one.”

Mr Khan, of Park Wood, recalled what he remembered of the crash.

He said: “I went down Tonbridge Road and was waiting to turn right into Bower Place when the car, on the other side of the road, basically hit me head-on.

“The corner of his car was on my side of the road.

"When I went flying, his wing mirror broke off and his bumper was hanging off.

“He just left me lying on the road.

“I banged my leg and had a dead leg, so I couldn’t walk for a couple of minutes.

“But some guy came along, pulled me on the pavement and called the police and ambulance.”

Mr Khan says he injured his right ankle, while he also has soreness in his back and his shoulders.

Kent Police and the South East Ambulance Service have been approached for further comment.
