Mum thanks complete stranger from Maidstone who sent parcel and restored her faith in humanity

A mum from Northern Ireland has thanked a complete stranger from Kent who has 'restored her faith in humanity'.

Caoimhe Mcconway, who lives in Lisburn, about five minutes outside of Belfast, had ordered some baby grows for her eight-month-old daughter Féah but they weren't delivered.

However, yesterday, the 28-year-old received a surprise parcel from a mystery woman from Maidstone.

Taking to Facebook to share her discovery, Caoimhe said: "I ordered some clothes for Féah that didn't come.

"I received this today, a girl called Emily, from Maidstone in Kent, found my parcel that fell off a truck, took a picture of my address and sent me this lovely card along with some baby grows for Féah.

"How amazing is she, a complete stranger?

"If anyone knows an Emily from Maidstone tell her she's completely restored my faith in humanity."

Caoimhe shared pictures of the note she received from 'Emily' and the post has since been shared more than 2,000 times.

The note read: "Dear Caoimhe, I am writing to you to let you know that a parcel you were expecting with baby clothes in will not be arriving as, unfortunately, the parcel must have fallen off the truck as we noticed it on the road whilst walking to school.

"I took a photo of your address and wanted to inform you and send a few baby grows for you, which I hope fit your little one.

"I would have collected them off the road, but they were strewn everywhere and all dirty and oily. The road is a busy one too!

"Congratulations on your new arrival - always such a precious time. Sincerely, Emily, from Maidstone, Kent, in the UK."

Speaking about it afterwards, Caoimhe said she couldn't believe a complete stranger would go to so much trouble to be so honest.

She added: "It was such a lovely thing to do, I just wanted to thank her personally hence the Facebook post.

"Social media can be so negative at times, it's nice to see something positive for a change."
