A supermarket worker from Asda Living in Maidstone has been hand-picked for a once-in-lifetime trip to the USA – in recognition of her approach to customer service and inspiringly positive attitude.
Jane Power who is a George Colleague at the store in St Peter's Street is one of only a handful in the UK selected to attend the Shareholders Conference of Walmart, the world's largest retailer, this June.
After six years at Asda, Mrs Power was nominated by her store manager, Gary Arter.
The three-day event takes place in Arkansas, which is where Walmart – the owner of Asda – has been based since it was formed in the 1950s.
The event is a celebration of the accomplishments of the business and its people, with the aim of sharing ideas from different countries, as well as showcasing their achievements and will be attended by 15,000 Walmart workers from across the USA, China, India, Japan, Mexico and Brazil, as well as the UK.
Last year's event was hosted by actor Jamie Foxx and singer Jason Derulo performed. Similar big names are expected at this year's event.
Mrs Power said: "I am very proud to be going to the USA to represent Maidstone and Asda."
