People are being encouraged to sign up for the Heart of Kent Hospice Moonlit Memories Walk this weekend.
This year’s walk will take place at a new venue Cobtree Manor Park in Aylesford for the first time, on Saturday (October 5).
There is a five-mile walk and a shorter one-mile walk for those who would like a shorter route. You can also choose to bring along your four-legged friends.
Walkers can arrive from 5pm to purchase refreshments - including a glass of bubbles from the prosecco van - and enjoy live music and warm-up acts before the walk begins at 6.30pm.
Face painting will also be available.
This event is one of the charity’s most important and raises funds to provide end-of-life care and support for patients and their families at the hospice or at homes across Maidstone and the surrounding areas.
The five-mile route will take walkers on footpaths around Cobtree Manor Park and Golf Course with specially lit areas including along parts of the river. There will be trained marshals along the way.
A reflective lantern area will be available for anyone who would like to leave a special message in remembrance of a loved one.
After completing the walk, everyone will receive a medal.
Tickets are on sale at moonlitmemorieswalk.eventbrite.co.uk
All ages are welcome to take part, whether you have a link with the hospice or not.
