The 48-year-old woman started laughing after her barrister William Ryan asked for an extra week to provide a psychologist report "because of Christmas".

She had pleaded guilty to two offences of reckless arson at flats at Kingfisher Road, Larkfield on September 5 this year.

The judge granted the extra week to the defence after telling Mr Ryan: "Christmas doesn't mean the world will come to an end. I will be working until December 24 and I am sure you will too."

He then ordered a probation report before adjourning sentencing to February 14 next year.

After telling her she will appear in person at the next hearing, Turner, of Kingfisher Road, started giggling again before replying: "Have a happy Christmas!"

She could be heard continuing to laugh as she returned to her cell.
