Maidstone and Weald schools honoured for Ofsted reports

Schools from across the county, including a pair in Maidstone, have been recognised for strong Ofsted reports at an awards ceremony.

Head teachers and governors from Senacre Wood Primary School and Tiger Primary School were invited to the Kent County Council (KCC) event at Maidstone’s Mercure Hotel.

Marden Primary, which as the name suggests is in Marden, was also honoured.

They were given certificates of appreciation from Roger Gough, the KCC cabinet member for education, and Patrick Leeson, the council’s corporate director.

Mr Gough told the recipients: “Your schools are great examples of what can be achieved with the right leadership from yourselves and the continued commitment of your staff.”

Peter Hellman is the head teacher at Senacre Wood and has been at the school for 24 years. On stage he paid tribute to staff for their hard work and bringing forward of new ideas.

Both Senacre Wood, which is in Graveney Road, and Tiger Primary, in Boughton Lane, received a “good” rating from Ofsted earlier this year, as did Marden Primary School.
