Maidstone: Thousands are expected to remember victims of the Paris terror attacks

A minute's silence in honour of victims of the Paris terror attacks will be marked around the town this morning.

Thousands are expected to fall silent in memory of the 129 people killed in the deadly attacks.

Shoppers at The Mall and Fremlin Walk will be among those taking part in the Europe-wide mark of remembrance, to be held at 11am.

Staff at Maidstone Borough Council are expected to take a moment to remember the victims - Town Hall is flying the nation's flag at half mast today.

Southeastern is also to observe the silence at all of its stations.

France is marking three days of national mourning following the IS-backed attacks on restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium on Friday.
