A rail service had been suspended after a blaze near the tracks.

Trains were unable to run between Otford and Maidstone East and the line to Ashford International was closed.

It comes after a grass fire near the railway in the Borough Green area.

Four fire engines were called to the site near Maidstone Road shortly after 12.20pm.

There were no reported injuries and the cause is not yet known.

The blaze has now been extinguished and all lines running between the affected stations will reopen.

But, Southeastern says services may still be cancelled or revised as it returns to normal.
