M20 reopened after van overturned near Maidstone leaving man with life-threatening injuries

The M20 has reopened after part of it was closed in both directions when a van overturned.

The air ambulance landed on the coastbound carriageway following the crash between Junction 6 and Junction 7 near Maidstone. A man remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The road reopened shortly after 1am, according to a police spokesman.

The accident sent a large diesel spillage across the road.

A heavy queue formed as all traffic was held.
