Man hospitalised after incident in Allington, Maidstone

A man was taken to hospital after police and ambulance crews were sent to a pub.

Blue flashing lights were seen close to the Poppy Fields pub and restaurant on St Laurence Avenue in Allington at about 9pm on Tuesday night.

Police said that they were called at 8.35pm on Tuesday September 4 to assist South East ambulance service with a "medical incident" at a location in St Laurence Avenue, Allington.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance service said ambulance crews requested police assistance and that a man was treated for a head injury and taken by ambulance crews to Maidstone Hospital.

A member of staff at the Poppy Fields said: "I was not on duty, but I have been told that someone was hit by a car last night.

"One of our staff went out to the scene and offered help but was told that everything was under control."
