Commuters are facing a lane closure on the M20 tonight following an accident much earlier this afternoon.

The incident occurred at around 1.15pm between Junction 5 for Maidstone and Junction 4 for Leybourne on the westbound carriageway.

The vehicles involved - a car and a lorry - have already been recovered but lane restrictions remain in place.

The incident is being dealt with by Highways England traffic officers.

No serious injuries were reported.
