Pair due in court after raid finds designer handbags and televisions in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone

Two people are due at Maidstone Crown Court after £30,000 of luxury goods were seized in a police raid.

Officers investigating the alleged distribution of drug money discovered items including designer handbags and televisions stashed in a flat in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone back in June.

A search of a nearby car found suspected cannabis in a tub of protein powder and a plastic package containing suspected cocaine.

Detectives charged Ashley Nation, 35, of Tonbridge Road, with concealing criminal property and being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Laura Hughes, 37 and of Wiverton Road, Sydenham, was also charged with concealing criminal property.

Nation appeared at Maidstone Magistrates Court on October 21 and Hughes appeared at the same court on October 25 and both their cases have been sent to the crown court to be dealt with.

Nation pleaded not guilty to being concerned in the supply and possession of cocaine, as well as being involved in criminal property. He will appear on Thursday, November 21.

Hughes pleaded not guilty to a money laundering offence and will appear on Friday, November 22.

She has been given unconditional bail until her court date.
