Two people have been arrested after a woman was hit by a vehicle and airlifted to hospital.
Several police and paramedics were called to the junction of Green Lane and Gandy’s Lane, in Boughton Monchelsea, near Maidstone, at around 9.30am today (February 3).
Crews assessed and treated the woman at the scene before being joined by the air ambulance.
She was then airlifted to King’s College Hospital.
Police confirmed a man in his 40s and a woman in her 30s were both arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
A passerby said they saw four police vehicles and three ambulances parked near the junction.
Heath Road was also blocked due to the incident with many vehicles being turned around.
A police spokesman added: “Kent Police was called at 9.38am after a vehicle collided with a pedestrian in Green Lane, Boughton Monchelsea.
“Officers attended the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service, where a woman in her 30s was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment to her injuries.
“An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances.”
