A 12-year-old boy has been arrested after a police search.

A helicopter was called to help officers on the ground after a burglary at a house in Quarry Square, Maidstone.

The initial report was recorded at 7.37pm, however due to concerns for the youngster's welfare, a search was launched.

Residents reported hearing the helicopter over the Allington and Sandling areas shortly before midnight.

The boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary and will appear before officers this afternoon.
