Police investigate death of man after body pulled from River Medway in Maidstone

Police have released further details after a body was pulled from the River Medway yesterday.

Officers were called to St Peter’s Street in Maidstone shortly before 4pm to a report of a body in the river near the retail park.

Police, as well as Kent Fire and Rescue Service, attended the scene where they recovered a man in his 20s, from the area, who had sadly died.

His family have been made aware, but formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police say they are investigating the circumstances.

The death is being treated as unexplained, but not suspicious.

A report is being prepared for the coroner.
