Organisers of the Kent County Show, which starts on Friday, say online ticket sales have been at record levels for two nights in a row.

Show manager Lucy Hegarty said: “We are over the moon that the Kent public have been using our new online ecommerce system.

"The barcode system will stay open on all three show days allowing visitors to book and print their tickets at home and use the fast track entrance.”

Scorching temperatures are predicted for the three days of the show, which is held at the Kent Showground in Detling, near Maidstone.

It will be held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (July 12, 13 and 14). Discounted advance tickets will be available until midnight tonight (Thursday). After this time the tickets will be available at the normal gate price.

The agricultural feast is in its 84th year and will have more than 400 stands, with new attractions including a new canine area and Joseph and his Amazing Racing Camels.
