Recovery driver fined for talking on mobile phone on A20 in Bearsted while on way to crash scene

A recovery driver was caught using his mobile phone while on his way to the scene of a crash.

Officers in an unmarked car spotted him chatting away as he was driving along the A20 through Bearsted to his next job yesterday afternoon.

The Kent Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted a picture of the truck just after 4pm.

They said: "A recovery driver talking on his mobile phone to find out where his next job was - a collision ironically.

"Ticket for using his mobile phone 6 points and £200 fine.

"No excuses - there is so much technology available these days, or just pull over safely."
