£1,000 reward put up after acid attack on man and his dog in Boughton Monchelsea

A reward is being offered after a man and his dog were attacked with acid whilst walking his dog last week.

Two attempted dog thieves poured a chemical over the dog walker and his 10-month old puppy in Boughton Monchelsea on Sunday.

The 64-year-old, who does not wish to be identified for fear of reprisal, was taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital after receiving help from medics and neighbours who helped wash the corrosive substance off.

His German short haired pointer, Alfie, suffered burns to his back as two men tried to snatch him in Hubbard's Lane.

Landlord Fergus Wilson, who is from Boughton Monchelsea, is now offering a £1,000 reward that will lead to the two men's conviction.

Mr Wilson, 70, said: "This sort of thing is becoming more and more common, you read reports of people people throwing acid from bikes in London.

"Hubbard's Lane is a small area, you can't go around throwing acid in the face of people walking their dogs anywhere."
