Kent flooding: River Medway by Lockmeadow in Maidstone bursts its banks

The River Medway has burst its banks in Maidstone.

Photos show the river beside Lockmeadow Entertainment Centre has completely flooded the towpath and surrounding area.

Weather warnings are currently in place across the county.

The government's Met Office has issued a yellow warning of rain across Kent and the south of the country, as heavy rain moves east across southern areas.

It warns that some travel disruption is likely, and that some homes and businesses are likely to flood.

The warning was originally in place until this evening but has been extended until 9am tomorrow (Sunday).
