Loose Road, A229, shut after three-vehicle crash

A crash involving two cars and a van outside a fire station shut a main route out of a busy town centre.

Loose Road, also known as the A229, in Maidstone, was closed in both directions following the accident at around 2pm.

Two people involved in the crash near Maidstone Fire Station have been treated by medics while a third person was treated for chest pains.

The road was closed in both directions for recovery vehicles to take away the cars involved.

It has since been reopened.
