Blue Bell Hill slip road shut after 'serious' accident

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to hospital after a serious accident which closed part of a major road.

Drivers faced delays on the A229 Blue Bell Hill after the slip road off to Eccles on the Maidstone-bound carriageway was shut just before the Shell garage.

Police and ambulance crews were called to the accident involving a motorcycle at 2pm and the air ambulance landed at the scene.

Police described it as a "serious RTC" and the slip road remained closed for about four hours.

It has since reopened.
